Writing copious amounts of clean Javascript
Actively contributing to our shared knowledge and codebases
Working in an agile-driven environment

Here's what we are looking for:

We want to hire a friendly, organized, design-savvy geek.

More specifically, we want:

Someone who loves the web as much as they love a challenge,
A strong communicator: Someone who writes well and communicates clearly,
An organized worker: There are a number of different projects on the go - keeping track of everything is key,
A difference maker.
--

Here's how to apply:

Send us an email and tell us why can't afford not to hire you. While you're at it, can you give us the long-hand syntax for the following CSS rule:

div { background: #FFF url("dynamo.jpg") top left no-repeat }

We love to look at code - so please don't be shy to share additional samples of your work.

Protect the oceans & look good doing it

Posted May 04, 2010 by Alex

Yellow Bird Project's latest release is a slick new Summer t-shirt designed by Dynamo for the band Whispertown 2000. All profits from the shirt benefit "Start in Streets", a charity created by Sophie Tweed Simmons and Tatiana Rogers that serves to prevent the litter of the streets from reaching nature’s underwater playground.

The treatment of the red fish against the sunshine base demonstrates (through color) the “disappearing” act that is happening to this fish due to the overfishing and pollution that’s affecting its waters. We learned that the Halibut is in fact on the endangered list and all but guaranteed to disappear by the end of this century. Also, the small technical callouts are using scientific terminology specific to genetic deformity, so those help accentuate the double message, and why the third eye is present on Mr Fish.

Check it out here.

Webdesigner Depot recognizes Yellowbird

Posted September 03, 2009 by Bryan Mahoney

In a recent post on their blog, Webdesignerdepot.com has listed Yellow Bird among a group of 25 sites they feel exemplify traditional design rules coming together with "Web 2.0" standards.

Here's what they said:

At first glance this site might appear a bit disheveled or scattered, but the more I look at it, and the more I browse through its pages, the more I’ve noticed the strength of its organization. Better yet, the Indie-inspired design really starts to appeal the longer the stay, and the scattered look of the site actually fits the theme....

12000km.org: one inspiring ride for two worthy causes

Posted July 28, 2009 by Frédérique Lefebvre

12000km.org is about Ryan Stotland, a 22-year-old brave Canadian (and fellow Montrealer) who just left for a 4-month bicycle trip across South America, that will cover 7 countries and 12,000 km. To give a deeper meaning to that personal challenge, Ryan decided to use this opportunity to raise money for two causes close to his heart: skin cancer and climate change. Ryan has chosen the Jewish General Hospital and the David Suzuki Foundations as the beneficiaries for the event. All proceeds raised will be evenly divided between these two organizations.
